Choosing Your Brand: Coke Machines versus Pepsi Vending Machines
If you need beverages to add onto your vending business then coke machines are a safe bet. It is widely debated which is more popular in America, Coca-Cola or Pepsi-Cola, but coke seems to be the most popular choice among vending machine owners. Today’s coke vending machines can be purchased for a low cost and you can often find them used so that you can fix them up yourself and save money on the initial investment in your business. This way you can place several coke machines for the same amount of money.
However, unless you can make improvements on antique coke machines these may not be the best option for your business because of all the people hacking coke machines. About 20 years ago, you could tilt a vending machine forward and get a free soda but today coke machine hackers are more sophisticated, employing various techniques to steal product or money from the machines. The good news is that they are rarely successful on the newer machines, but antique coke machines will have to be watched carefully, as they are easily hacked.
You can go with a coke machines that sells twelve ounce can of coke. This is probably the most popular choice among vending machine owners because cans of coke are cheap when you buy them in bulk and you can make a profit from them easily. Generally people charge between .45 and .75 cents for Coca-Cola products from a coke vending machine and some go down to .25 cents and offer generic cola products. Of course, if you like Pepsi better or find a great deal on the Pepsi vending machine than you can go with this brand.
Also, you can go with a coke machine that sells the product in bottles. Coke bottle machines are still widely popular as far as vending machines go, and coke in plastic twenty ounce bottles has all but replaced the can of coke, or the glass bottle of coke. People like coke in bottles because they are easy to keep for a while. Once you open a can, you need to find a place to secure it or drink it down, but a bottle of coke can rattle around in your passenger seat and allow you to uncap it and take a drink while stopped at traffic lights.
